Why sponsor?

Change the world by supporting the studies of children in developing countries

In Estonia each child has the right to free education. But in the world there are 72 million children (according to United Nations) who can not access primary education. With the new project of NGO Mondo every individual in Estonia gets the chance to sponsor the studies of children in the village called Kongo, in the Upper East Region of Ghana in West-Africa. These are children between the ages 7-14 who have lost one or both parents and who attends Kongo primary school.

NGO Mondo from Estonia has a reliable partner in Ghana, Kongo Village Development Commitee (KDC), where a special commission has been elected to coordinate the sponsorship program. The leader of the committee is Victor More.

We are encouraged to start our program following the good example set by Finnish organisation Suomi-Ghana Seura r.y., who has been supporting the education of children in Ghana for many years. As a result of their programme Finnish/Ghanaian Adopted Children Support many primary school children have been able to continue their studies in senior secondary school and after that in teacher training college, technical school or univeristy. Kingsley from Kongo village is a good example. He is now 28 years old and is studying in the Manitoba University in Canada.

"Dream Big! Let space, not the sky be your limit."
