According to recent estimates, the global economic crisis has claimed at least 50 million jobs this year and up to 100 million more people are expected to fall below the poverty line in 2009. Climate change further compounds the problem. -

Come to African Day on 1st of June
On Monday, 1st of June, on the International Child Protection Day, NGO Mondo officially launches the website for the new Ghana children sponsorship program. The wepage address is: www.muudamaailma.ee/eng (in English it means: change the world). In the event NGO Mondo will set up the photo exhibition showing the life of children in Ghana and will teach Estonian children about Ghana and African culture. -

New project of NGO Mondo “A small gift is a big help” establishes a child sponsorship scheme for children in Ghana. It’s the first opportunity for Estonian individuals to directly support developing countries. And to do that via supporting education of children. -

For supporting the schoolchildren in a small Kongo village in Upper East region in Ghana, you can choose monthly payments (standing order) or one-time payment once a year. The necessary support for one child for one school year is 600 EEK (appr. 38 EUR).
